BLUE BEDROOM

This large, sunny bedroom in the French 'manoir' has four windows. We chose a colour scheme of blue for its cool and calming qualities.

Two walls were decorated with French-inspired wallpaper in a Toile de Jouy design of blue on a white ground. The remaining walls were painted with a blue matt emulsion, which was specially mixed to match by Julie.

We made white voile drapes to hang at the windows to continue the cool and elegant theme set by the crystal chandelier and matching wall lights.

The furnishings were chosen to complement the proportions of the room and the 19th century period style. The day bed, 'trumeau' mirror and blue painted armoire were all sourced in France.

 

LAVENDER BEDROOM

Lavender is well known for its therapeutic qualities. In this bedroom the cool colour scheme creates a sanctuary of peace and tranquility.

The room has sunshine for much of the day and the white voile at the windows filters the light in an attractive manner.

The walls are painted with a cream emulsion. This was mixed to match the background colour of the violet and lavender patterned wallpaper, used to decorate the feature wall behind the antique wooden bed.
